The time period is the 1960's and what is currently the River North Neighborhood in Chicago is one of the strongest Industrial Areas in the United States.. As Industry moved to the South Side of Chicago, the 1970s-1980s's saw what was formerly a Industrial area turn into a Warehouse area.. There were definetely no condos, multi million dollar homes, restaurants or clubs around this area!
Fast forward to the present year of 2010... Through the magic of Chicago Strong Arm Politics, Wealthy and Visionary Developers and a few individuals who owned most of the land that made up what is now the River North area, the city of Chicago turned what was once a Industrial and Warehouse area into one of, if not the most desirable area in the city to Work, Live and Play! You gotta love Urban Development!
The River North boom didnt really start to take place until the late 1990's, and while the current recession and nose diving real estate market slowed down the rapid growth of the Chicago River North Real Estate Market and River North Residential Development, I dont see the River North Neighborhood fading away any time soon!
